Poor fellow has been injured for ages now. Does anyone know what's wrong with him? Rumours are that we won't risk him playing with gingivitis.

I really hope the med team is working extra hard so he can play soon.

He's not playing because the board don't want to risk him getting injured ... which would hamper any potential buyer's coming in to pay yeung's lawyers fee's

He wont play for us because they dont want him injured which is just embarrassing seeing him on the bench and not getting on.

Okay, this isn't a dig at Chris Hughton because I really don't envy the job he has on his hands at the moment and I think he is doing brilliantly in a pretty desperate situation.
The one thing I feel that just isn't on however is this constant 'Scott Dann is still our player and is very much in my plans for the next game' routine.
I think someone needs to come out and just be honest, because we aren't stupid and don't deserve to be treated as such.
Scott Dann is hands down our top defender, there is no debating that.
Yet he is on the bench behind Caldwell (once again not a dig at Caldwell as he hasn't done much/if anything wrong) but I just feel as if the club are insulting our intelligence a little bit.
We hear Scott hasn't played games and isn't fully fit ... So what sense does it make to leave him rot on the bench and not get any minutes under his belt, and at the same time lose his calming, steady, solid influence on the defence.
I think it would hurt me far less if he played every game this season up to the point he was sold, then left, as opposed to the mockery that is happening at present.
Arsene Wenger hit the nail on the head by picking Nasri the other day. Rmuoured to be off, a chance they could lose him for 21 million less in the summer on a free if he got injured and deal fell through, but he wanted to give his team the best possible chance for that game and he decided to play him. I just want to know the truth now, every man and his dog knows pretty much that Dann isn't playing in case he gets injured. So please don't rub it in our faces by sitting him on the bench when there isn't the slightest chance of him coming onto the pitch or better still feed us a line about how he is 'in consideration to play' as we all know it just isnt and will never be the case.

Scott Dann hasn't kicked a ball in anger since January. Either he is fit or he isn't. I bet if he signed for Arsenal tomorrow he would be in the team on Saturday!

On another note, does anyone know why Enric Valles isn't getting a game?

Have you ever thought he might be on the bench BECAUSE people are coming to have a look at him?

If someone were to see him play in the Championship they'd be pretty much convinced to make an offer tbh.

Like I've said before, I fully expect him to start after the transfer window is shut.

Caldwell and davies have formed a good partnership and I don't think dann should be thrown in and disrupt it when he could very likely be leaving before the window shuts anyway.

Scott Dann will be sold at some point as Carson Yeung needs the cash to stop Grandtop International going under.

Don't get me started on the ownership of the club. If CY and Great Luck own 26.31% of the shares. Who owns the rest?

I'm pretty sure Birmingham International Holdings ltd own the club... not Carson Yeung, who only owns around 20%

Dare I suggest he play alongside them as a three, with our evergreen Carr as one wing back and Ridge/Murphy/or dare I say Beausejour the other with license to attack? If only it were that straightforward eh?! Lol, wouldn't be a bad shout at some of these Championship grounds when your going to be bombarded with long ball after long ball though, i'd feel comfortable having them 3 (5 including the wingbacks) to repel the bombardment.

There could be some truth in it if you were to believe this article, though I fail to see a quote that suggests the board would be happy as stated...

Quote:

CHRIS Hughton last night insisted that he hasn’t felt any pressure from the top to move out any of Blues stars.

And he revealed that both he and the board would be happy if the transfer window shut and Scott Dann, Cameron Jerome and Nikola Zigic were still at the club.

That trio are the most in demand, although there has been more rumour and speculation than actual concrete offers into St Andrew’s for them.

“I haven’t felt any pressure financially,” said Hughton. “But I am conscious that if the players go, they will go because of financial reasons.

“Most people understand that. When I took the job I understood I was going to lose players, but only if the valuations were right.

“And I think the club will still be quite strong on that.

“If nothing happens and we keep them, then I would be delighted.

“As always, as a manager, you want the best players available. Those players are three very, very good players.

“And if we still have them, then we would all get on with it - myself, the club, the financial people.”
